FINAL DEADLINE IS SUNDAY MARCH 25!
We are excited to announce that for our 2018 spring break mission trip--March 17-23--we will be heading to Memphis, TN, to serve Community Bible Church and the poverty-stricken communities of greater Memphis.
What Are We Going To Do? - We are partnering with an organization called Street Reach. We will be doing community service projects such as visiting a nursing home, doing street clean up, or going to a laundromat and visiting with its patrons asking how we can pray for them. We will also be putting on "backyard Bible clubs" in a local neighborhood. As always with mission trips, be prepared to be flexible!
Who Can Go? - This trip is designed for high school students who are wanting to serve something bigger than themselves. Please pray about the opportunity to go on this trip. Mission trips are different than other trips we take as a youth ministry. We consider it to be a commitment that you make--not just to the week itself, but to all preparations, training, and meetings prior to. Yes, it's fun and you will make tons of memories, but the focus is 100% on serving others.
How Much Does It Cost? - The total cost for the trip will be $150 if registered by January 28; there will be a $50 late fee for registrations turned in after this date. The deadline to sign up for the trip and for final payments is February 25. In addition, you will also need to cover the cost of 4 fast food meals during travel and any spending money you might want. If money is a genuine obstacle, please contact Josh (josh@uccmanhattan.net) as there are scholarships available.
How Do I Sign Up? - If you and your parents decide to pursue this opportunity, turn in the Commitment & Permission/Release Form and your payment (or $50 non-refundable deposit) to Josh. Checks should be made out to UCC. You can also pay online by clicking here! If you choose to pay online, you still need to fill out and turn in the permission slip. You will also need to turn in or have a current (dated within one year) UCC Medical Release Form on file.
